On the third hand, I'm not buying any EK products (as I had been planning) until I see evidence that their nickel plating is reliable, and I see if they are going to make their customers whole who have received defectively manufactured blocks.

It seems pretty clear that EK has a manufacturing problem with their nickel plating. It also seems clear that they are having trouble seeing exactly why their thin plating is leading to problems. The question is, how do you convince them?

I have followed this thread from the beginning, and I know that EK has put you personally through the ringer, and that ain't right any way you look at it. They are botching the customer-relations and damage-control aspects of this crisis in their business, but it isn't over yet, and they are human beings like you and me. As I said, if the goal is to convince EK to come around, it's not going to be through hostility or incomplete experiments.
That's the purpose of this community, to band together and help each other out. I apologize if I offended you but you are correct that a lot of us have been screwed by EK. We're all just trying to make the best of it and waiting this long can make some of us testy

What the five is an incomplete experiment about putting a nickel block under a high powered scope and seeing that yes, there are areas of poor to little nickel coverage?

Any area of poor coverage will undergo bimetallic corrosion.

I love that Shoggy is viewing this thread. His business must be tripling during this shameful event in EK history.

You can't be serious? You don't see a manufacturer that's more interested in money than his customers after all this? You sir are an idiot and the reason why unethical manufacturers can continue to do business in an ignorant market.

Get a clue. DON'T support a company that treats it's customers this way.

I could be completely wrong and sincerely apologize, but I took his (tha d0ctor) comment in a way that since he believes non-coated copper is a superior cooler, that he would not be purchasing EK products since many of them are nickel coated (I know EK sells copper only as well).

If he is implying that he would still patronize EK buy purchasing their non-nickel products, then I completely agree with you as I am no longer supporting EK in any way and will never purchase their products again.
