Best cpu block right now is the Aquacomputer Kryos HF, best nickel block is the Koolance 370. Let us not forget the venerable HK 3.0, XSPC Rasa (best bang for you buck imo). My original statement on recommending only copper EK blocks stands. I have no gripe with their performance. Though, at this point, its obvious that both EK's nickel and customer service are big failures tbh.

+1 for the XSPC Rasa...kit is awesome and is cooling my i5 2500K @ 4.8 and keeping under 50C

lol, the pole was as low as 61% no and 39% yes, now its 73% no and 27% yes after EK made its statement. Says a lot imo.

Well it is possible that they did "test" the block. But what good is the test if you don't know if the block is faulty to begin with or not. I don't think they're intentionally being shifty. But it sure makes them look like they're being so. It's hard to believe that's their intent. Especially since they are going to RMA regardless of Dist.+Killcoil.

I honestly believe that a straight up comparison using Nickel Plate blocks is what is needed to rectify the situation. Maybe that's a naive way of looking at things in this regard but they aren't going to do this themselves. What we need here is a good old fashioned video showing both systems running side by side in the same conditions.

This is what we called applied theory back in the day. That being that EK has faulty plating and can't see the forest through the trees without a little nudge.

If I had two systems to cool I'd volunteer. Since I don't I can only recommend.

This guy makes stripping nickel look easy . I'll get my order in next week. It is ~$30 for 2.5lbs of B-929, enough for one gallon and to strip 6oz of nickel, which I think is plenty enough. I'm going to hit the swap meets to find an old stainless pot or a large restaurant style ss tray. Won't try the nickel plating process, that's too complicated for me.

Sad story. I was hoping to go water cooling someday, but now I'll know never to choose EK blocks.
