Just got an update from EK! Gave me a little comfort seeing as the blocks that will be arriving here by tom are all nickel!

EK RMA upgrade for corrosion - 14/06/2011
RMA is upgraded on two points:

1.We are lifting the RMA limit on corrosion to full 24month from the end-user purchase date without limit.
2.EK will cover all shipping costs of the RMA block to reseller and shipping of the replacement block back to customer.

finally some conscience from EK! i am ready for the RMA now

But can we still use distilled water plus silver killcoil or pt nuke with their blocks or just pre-approved anti-corrosion additives when honoring an RMA?

Nice update! I was going to ship mine today, but glad I haven't yet

Regarding Silver or PTNuke, I doubt they will be sending Nickel blocks as replacements until they get their stuff sorted out.

i am wondering what are they going to send me as replacement for my EK classifield full waterblock.. because i don't see any alternative out there..
.... just perfect
Spend all my hard earned money on my loop, and now I get to see this horror

I as well am an owner of a Nickel / Plexi combo, in my case a 6870 full cover and it's about 4 months old.
After I checked my block for problems I myself could not see any corrosion whatsoever.

Should I swap over to pre-mixed coolant as EK suggests?
Or should I just keep it the way it is now?

What is your opinion?

-Don't mind the 2 dirty spots on the left and right bottom, that's adhesive tape for UV CCFL's-

Thanks for the update guys, I updated the op. +1. I've been super busy with selling, shipping, putting my new sb setup together, and life. I appreciate everyone's collaboration and I hope those who are affected can finally get the warranty we paid for. Not me, I no longer support EK products. Though it does not mean I will blast them. I have my honest opinion only, take it or leave it .
