Probably because 299 is the maximum you can get on the source engine? Why do you even care, u won't notice any difference between 60 and 299 and 350 lol

Counter-Strike does not use 6 cores. Core per Core Core i7 is a lot faster. Also not all maps get 299 fps. some get lower even for my computer.

what mhz are your memory at? memory latency sometimes help keep a significant amount of fps because it takes the data to the cpu much faster and has better latency
post #5 of 34
CS Source is all about CPU power, and for one reason or another i7 rigs are just that much better at running CS Source. Try setting "fps_max" to 0 in the console (you can enable it under the advanced keyboard settings) and you'll see a pretty large difference between both rigs (assuming they are on similar/identical settings).

All you need is a Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz+ to run it smooth.

you all know that CS:S doesn't support SLI??

anyways....

60hz Screen = 60 FPS max shown

120Hz Screen = 120 fps max shown....

either way... you ain't going 2 be able to see the difference....
