570 Downclocking for certain WU's?!

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I just got a 570 a few days ago, and I've had it folding 24/7 on GPU3, and periodically I've come back to find that the card has downclocked to 2D clocks and is only pulling about 30% off its peak PPD. Any ideas whether this is a GPU3 issue, or my card/Afterburner etc? I'm not sure whether it's a specific WU that trips it, or what, only a full restart of the comp resets it. The card still loads to 100%, but it doesn't clock up from the 2D base clocks... Thanks for any input!

usually for unstable oc it'll downclock under load.. try with stock clocks and see if it downclocks
post #3 of 20
Can you post your log in [code] tags, it can be either unstable like koven said or a driver/windows issue which happens a fairly good amount too.

The client shutdown was a manual one when I tried to reset the clocks and kickstart it into 3D speeds. I think the OC is stable though, I've had no issues with failed WUs at these speeds. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I have a GPU2 client running on a seperate card here too. Thanks for all the help guys, this one is making me crazy...

Edit: FWIW, I'm on the 266.35 Beta drivers to allow that 8800 to be recognized as a Physx card with the 570.

Bump, I've had it happen twice already today with P6805 WUs both times... I'm on 266.35 drivers, running 1 SMP, 1 GPU2, 1 GPU3. Chris, Z, any thoughts?

Yes, and I've completed 200 WU's at this OC already so I'm not concerned that it's a stability issue...
