Can the Wireless controller work with PC?

Hey Guys,

I picked up an XBox wireless controller thinking it came with a little dongle to be plugged into a USB slot. Apparently it does not. Is there a way I can make this thing work with my PC? I do not own an XBox.

Thanks!

Take it back to where you got it from. BestBuy has the "kit" with a controller and the usb dongle that comes with it. I got one and I'm using it right now. If you don't want wireless you can get a wired one and it works the same.

Well I was gonna link it but of course it's my luck. I can't find it on their website.

edit:
The microsoft website will have to do...

Can't I buy a dongle separately? Or at the very least a cord? (it has a place to plug in a cord).

I got the controller for $25 from Walmart, cheapest I've seen. Returning it only to pay a lot more is a hassle and seems like a bad idea. There has to be a web site that sells the dongle or a cord.

Nope the cord doesn't Do anything for connecting, even with the xbox. Its only for charging. I guess you could try to buy it seperately but you won't get it in any retail store as it is sold with a controller. Try ebay or other online auctioning site? Or just get a wired controller. The one that is actually wired and not wireless with the charging cable.

Found this for $15 shipped. Kinda pissed though, I thought I was getting a working controller for $25 Now it's going to cost me $40. Might just sell the controller and stick with my $10 generic controller.

U should buy a usb cord, so u can charge the controller. There is a wireless receiver that works if u don't want to have a wire on the controller when gaming, but u still need a cord to charge the controller.

Yupp that's the thing. But you should have done research first. but you did save like $10 the hard way. The bundle costs like $50.
