Thread Starter
Hey

Building a new system for my bday, upgrading from a Pentium D LGA 775 and radeon x1800xt. Decided to give the old pc away so I'm starting from scratch.

Gaming and CAD/Catia V5 2d/3d school stuff.

Case: CM HAF 932--- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16811119160

PSU: CM Silent Pro Gold RS800--- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817171057

CPU: I5-2500k--- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16819115072

MB: Asus P8P67 Pro-- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813131682

Cooler: Noctua NH-D14--- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16835608018

GPU: MSI Hawk GTX 460 1gb--- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814127518

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws (2x4gb) DDR3 1600--- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16820231314

MEM: WD 500gb HD

* Might be going SLI in a little bit.
** Might try water cooling
*** SSD as boot drive might be interesting also

Any opinions or thoughts would be sweet.

Cheers !

Its a good build. No doubt about that.
Just a few comments on some reallocation of funds.

Unless you have a specific reason to go with the Gold cert psu, maybe look into this Corsair unit.

I'd apply the extra money to upgrading to a 6870 for the video card. It would be good to make the build more balanced for gaming.

But it looks good overall.
