Its both really, its fun and cheap i got the copper for free and the acrylic for 10 bucks and my gpu is idling at 28 c and load at 43c

Hot glue bro.
Put them on with the TIM, then hot glue them to the PCB.

It took about 2 hours 1 hour to cut the copper with my drill press and then i used my dremel to connect the channels. Then another hour to polish the bottom and lap it.

aha, ghetto rig it up it could work but my pcb temps arent bad idling at 27 c load at 38c
