Haha fliq they sent me back the Classified yesterday. Didn't even clean out the melted plastic inside the 24-pin connector.
Pitiful.

Hey man, they've turned over a new leaf. They officially don't care at ALL about the customer now.

Sending my board back due to unrelated tiny scratches when it nearly destroyed my system was pretty much a double middle finger...

Nice setup you've got there. Weird how when you first turned it on it stopped and then started again. Do you know how your 24pin melted?

I certainly do...the EVGA Classified 760/759, along with a couple other boards by other manus, was designed without ample power allocated to the PCI lanes. It all came out of the 24-pin. And with how powerful GPUs have gotten, my 24-pin didn't stand a chance.
Peter Tan aka Shamino made this public over a year and a half ago, recommending a molex mod so this wouldn't happen.
It's the reason EVGA too little, too late came out with the Power Boost http://www.evga.com/articles/00600/
Doesn't make up for it though for me.

+1
And guess who he went to work for? Asus
Not to mention the new EVGA P67 lineup, whenever they get around to releasing it, the design is really lacking now more than ever

um, no.

He went to work at Sapphire along with much of eVGA's motherboard division.

and if i'm wrong about that, he definitely didn't go to asus.
