Major scheduled update!

Z68 boards are being added as they are released to their manufacturers' respective websites.

Keep in touch for up-to-the-hour updates!

And, as always, tips are hugely appreciated.

the asus p8z68 pro and vanilla actually have several improvements over the p67 comparables:

-power and reset buttons on board (pro)
-6 layer pcb (z68 pro vs 4 layer p67 pro)
-12 (cpu) + 4 (gpu) + 2 (dimm) vrm power phases
-what looks to be an improved vrm topology (looks like 4 fets per phase, may be same as p8p67 deluxe topo with the last 4 phases dedicated to igpu)
-larger/better vrm heatsinks

you may also want to add a column for video out. for some bizarre reason, not all z68 boards will have video out.

Yes, but the graph can only be made so large.

Those small differences don't effect the end-user.

It's a big difference if you plan to use the IGP and don't have a discrete GPU.

I may upgrade with this possibility, and apparently can't consider Gigabyte. Maybe I'm an exception, but wow, I can't believe none of their Z68s have video out.

*** EDIT ***
Gigabyte DOES offer Z68 boards with video out. These models are denoted with 'H' in their name. Example: GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3

My bad.

Wow, you're right!

What the heck is the point of Z68?

It only makes it more obvious to me that Z68 is worthless.

I have one of those worthless Z68 ...Asus Pro coming in a few days. I want the integrated graphics as it's a nice feature to have. I don't see why you dislike them so much. If everyone wanted the same exact thing it would be a vanilla world. Give us dummies a break sir

You're wrong.

I don't dislike Z68 for being different. I encourage such behavior.

I dislike it for being useless, and mostly the same as P67.

P67 ([H]) + H67 (n00b) = Z68.

It's like putting a toddler seat in an F1 racer..

On the one hand "It's more than just an F1 racer..", but on the other hand..

What the point of the toddler seat? I don't have any kids.

Catch my drift?

Really sorry for the double post here, but I felt like I needed to say this in another post.

The way you talk about Z68.. making it sound like you're "different" for buying it.. while Z68 in itself having no actual worth..

Hits me (hard), as how Apple fans talk of any iTem.. as if it's inferior and they know it, but it makes them "unique."

I've always hated that false logic, and I do hate the Z68.

Actually I'm ok with it being worthless to you. I am not getting it to be different. I have a 3 year old 4830 and don't want /need a GPU. Integrated is fine...plus I can still use the old GPU in it if I want.

I don't plan on running past 4.3/4.4 on the 2500K. My benchmarking days are over. Overclocking is just an interesting hobby for me.

I understand that many of you guys are hard-core gamers/ bench markers, but I just want a nice rig to play with. If I only got what I need i would be running an old Pentium rig. I'm good with your view....try to be understanding of other folks views

edit: I don't use Apple products. My MP3 player is a 4 gb Sansa refurb
