as for the X6 which ive tried out for me it feels cheap very cheap and so does the lycosa compared to the G15

have you considered the G110 or the razer anansi??or even the razer Blackwidow?

if you are trying to decide between the lycosa and the G15 this article might help you
http://twisted-reviews.com/short-review-logitech-g15-vs-razer-lycosa-a-lost-battle-for-razer/

also ive heard that the lycosa has a higher faliur rate

hope this helps

I haven't looked into those keyboard but i will now wink.gif The lycosa has terrible ratings on newegg. 3 egg's for a keyboard that expensive is pretty lame. I looked at the anansi but it didn't have back lighting and thats something i want.

I also like the raised key part of it because of the spacebar. I generally use the edge of the raised key space bars and with the "flat" keys i rest my thumb on the top and it wears out very quickly and gets slippery and i don't like that which is making me want to get a raised key again.

Is the g110 backlit? Thats really my only request is back lit and media keys would be very nice.

Love my G15 version 2, I love the slight rubbery feel (despite the fact they probably aren't) they have and as black!ce said it made him type faster I can say the same I can type much faster with it. Is such a comfortable keyboard. The programmable G keys are great especially when I used to play San Andreas Multiplayer for fast typing commands in an instant. Love the "game" button where it turns off your windows key easier than doing it myself tongue.gif The LCD is nice for monitoring this that aren't on screen ie. hardware temps or fraps FPS, benchmarking, incoming xfire messages, etc, etc. Solid keyboard but the only thing I don't like is the backlight colour....its orange mad.gif so I will probably shell out the money some time for a g510 for the customizable colour and the more G keys

So I recommend the G15 Version 2 thumb.gif

Ya the G510 is backlit with whatever colour you want, and the G15 V2 is around, check a Future Shop or Best Buy they have tones left where I live

Thanks for the input man! Yeah the orange is the only thing i don't like either. I could see myself replacing the led's in it for some blue or red ones though and doing the carbon fiber mod wink.gif

I have the G15, owned the Lycosa, and now have the G510. Hands down the G510 and G15 are the best picks. The wife now uses the G15 and I use the G510. I love the customizable backlight colors. And the integrated USB audio for plugging in the headset/mic is awesome. I prefer the G510 over the G15.

Stay away from the Lycosa. Mine got returned due to the same issues everyone complains of. The random keys stop working, stick, and the touch pad partially works... then the lights decide to flash off and on. I was not going to trust my luck on a second one.. as I have always used Logitech boards, and strayed once to Razer.. never again. I love Razer mice as I own a Naga... but for boards... I have to say I am very partial to Logitech. If you do not care about a LCD on the board... I also looked at the G110 very nice board with customizable backlighting too.

lycosa (razer) is garbage

g15 is pretty good for a rubber dome

i like the logitech illuminated too

I have the lycosa, I haven't had any of the problems others stated. I like the feel of the keys, but can't wait to replace this with a mech keyboard.

IMO go for whichever feels the best to you. I liked the lycosa over the g15/g11 because it is slimmer and fits in better with the rest of my Razer gear tongue.gif.

But have you considered any mechanical keyboards?

It really depends on what you want in a keyboard.
Like Monsk, I have a Lycosa, but unlike Monsk, I'm using a G15 V1 at the moment. My reasoning for it? It's better for RTS.

Yeah, I know, it seems like a stupid idea, but I never got use to the low profile keys when playing RTS. I use the G15 for RTS mainly, and when I can be bothered to grab the Lycosa, the Lycosa.

Also, in my opinion, the Lycosa is a damn fine looking keyboard. As for the build quality, it's not quite as bad as people make it out to be. I've had my Lycosa for over two years, or at least around that time, and it's been fine. I've left it sitting on a shelf for a month or two, pulled it out and plugged it in, and it still works fine.

But ultimately, it's what you want out of a keyboard.

Also, about the Lycosa light flashing problem. I thought I had the same thing, but then I realised it was because everytime I reached for my speaker controls, I touched the light switch on the touch panel.

I personally like typing on the Lycosa much more than the G15 as it feels much more responsive. I also require less effort to actually push down the keys (Yes, I know I'm lazy). The Lycosa takes a little bit of time adjusting too since they are low profile keys. One thing you should be wary of is that if you're getting the standard Lycosa, not the mirror, the rubber coating on the keyboards will eventually wear out. But the damn thing looks so sexy.

My thoughts on the G15 is that it's a great keyboard. It has a lot of nice little features and a lot of monitoring programs have applets for it, such as CoreTemp which I find a godsend when I'm stressing for stability. I just turn off my screen and look at the keyboard for my temps. It's a nifty little addition.

But to reiterate Monsk, have you considered Mechanical keyboards? They're like, so sexy. And awesome. And sexy.

Just my two cents with a lot of stuff about aesthetics instead of actual usability.

X6 is fantastic for the price.

Easiest to type on keyboard I've used in a long time. Easy volume and backlight control, and tons of macro keys if you use them.

It all comes down to the kind of feel you want when typing.
