Remove Dual Boot?

hey all, long time.

just had the main hdd in my machine die. which creates a problem for me. i had windows xp on it as a main and had vista on the 2nd hdd as a dual boot thingy, but all the info on the boot was recorded on the one that died. is there a way i can restore the boot loader so i can just run the one vitsa hdd?

You need to do a rescue and restore the boot config

type:

msconfig in the run box
click "boot" tab

Its in there I forget the exact option.

I think he needs to restore a bootmgr since the xp disk was obviusly his main disk

close but no cigar, well i fixed the not ready hdd prob, i must have pinched a jumper off it.

mine isnt actually saying "bootmgr is missing" mine is saying "ntldr is missing"

Go in bios and make sure the disk is set as the boot drive and that its in the correct mode (IDE/Raid/AHCI)

Damn it beat me to it!

Ohh and in bios, make sure the HDD priority is set to the HDD that you want.

Usually on the top few options in that menu.

Shows something like
1.HDD askdjals654kdjhalksd 750WD
2.HDD ;alsjdas256316354 64SSD
