Using laptop@ college? put it in your backpack? carrying case? - Page 2

I have a messenger bag and I always keep my laptop in there.

I use my laptop bag for my laptop remaining school needs. I have the 17in Targus bag, and it can fit quite a bit of stuff in it.

My backpack has a padded section pretty much dedicated for laptops. It's nice, and fits my big Dell 17 incher. One of the Swissgear things, I think it's called.

I put my laptop in a sleeve and in the laptop compartment in my backpack. I like the extra cushion despite my laptop being rather rugged

Just don't overstuff your backpack.
I personally hate carrying anything in my arms around school, so I try to fit as much as I can in my backpack--even though it's probably heavy. My other books don't technically "squash" it, but it just lays next to it, and I don't think it hurts the computer at all, since they're all laying flat. I still use a laptop case because things in your bag can scratch it. I honestly don't even like bringing too much in my backpack because it's too heavy and it hurts. All I have is a MacBook and it's kinda heavy, and if you bring a textbook or two, that almost triples the weight...so I typically to choose to bring one or the other! Typically I'd choose the laptop over the books because I was getting my online IT degree with some extra courses on the side, so I could just take the class on my laptop between classes! Carrying all that stuff in your back is going to kill your shoulders...consider a backpack if you're going to carry so much stuff--it'll be bad for your back if it's too heavy!!

I wouldn't trust one of those flimsy sleeve things with anything XD. Anyways I use a messenger bag for my new laptop (it's in my system list if you wanna check) but I'd get a Logitech Kinetik 17.3" Case/Backpack in a heartbeat those cases are motha f'in rugged. I use one for my smaller laptops (15.6" and below) and dang...

P.S. I'd recommend NOT carrying your laptop around with you there are enough problems with getting into and out of classes without one in your arms + it'll make it easier to trip. My 2 cents.
