Windows 7 system sound problem with Xtrememusic

Thread Starter
there is a problem with my system. the "click" sound (known as windows navigation start) does not work. I tried to play the sound on itunes and it worked. Just not when I click on folders, back, forward, etc.

I have done some googleing and some said it is a problem with the x-fi.
does anyone know how to fix this?

EDIT:

The sound doesnt work in both "Entertainment" and "Gaming" modes. However, it works on "Music Creation" mode.

Make sure the onboard sound of your motherboard is disabled in BIOS. If that's not the problem then try this:

1. Completely uninstall all Creative drivers and software using Window's uninstaller. Then reboot.

2. After booting back run a reliable driver cleaning program like driver cleaner or driver sweeper (free) to clean Creative drivers and software (I use driver cleaner myself, it's only $10 and worth it). Reboot again.

3. Try using the PAX drivers available for your card. Here's the link to the X-Fi Xtreme Music drivers for Win 7 64-bit: PAX PCI XFI Win7 Driver V1.25 after installing reboot.

4. Then install the PAX Console Launcher called Master Suite available here: PAX MASTER Suite V1.70 after installation once again reboot.

5. Verify if that fixed your problem.

I took both links of the PAX software from the PAX official thread: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/pax-dr...ml#post1392442

The sound never came up for me either.

To be honest I never really missed it... not sure why anyone would.

Weird. I have the exact same card and OS and I don't have that problem. I'm using the same drivers too.

Hi everyone sooo i have the exact same issue of the "start navigation" system sound either not playing at all or low, playing in different odd distorted maner, but is never played clearly. and basically since 2years i've been trying sounds cards on 64bits systems with 4gb ram+ every single setup have this issue, so thats a big deal, and i doubt we're only 2 people with this irritating issue.
it only happens if you have no sound playing at all, and it sounds like it should when you have anything playing like winamp, a game running or some youtube action. i mean im a noob on this subject, but in 2 ******* years, they couldn't fix something like that seriously? and i though when buying my pci-e card that everything would be fine 2years later, yeaa suree im so naive. so here i am on google, looking for similar issue and while a lot a people randomly report it,(since its actually a 4years old issue? and seems it can happen to any pci/pci-e cards) i've never seen anyone coming with a solution, a fix, W H A T E V E R.
Anyway on Xonar series, you can fix this (and i hate calling that a fix) is to monitor you microphone (its an option so that you hear yourself talking! )

In before grammar police, im sorry for my english skillz.
