Dvd Drive wont eject in emachine...

As title states no dvd drive ide or sata I put in this emachines T6524 will eject, I decided to stick some spare parts in this to make a spare room comp. I replaced the original drive and installed windows 7 which doesn't have a driver set for this machine, but runs great on it. Much looking and no solutions for me on this yet except finding a copy of xp and reformatting yet again. If anyone could throw me a hint be much appreciated since this is quite an odd issue to me.

are you trying to edject using windows explorer (right click on cd/dvd drive -> edject), or pushing the edject button?

if the edject button doesnt work, check power going to the drive

tried the drive that came in it ide, and a sata I have here neither work but were picked up in windows and the bios, i remember in xp It would eject sometimes...button or clicking and hitting eject in windows. Im using a modular 550 i had lying around which powers the system fine, but now the drive isnt seen in the bios so either as you said its some power issue or maybe my drives are on their deathbed...all of them are 3-5 years old. If i cant fix it no big issue just annoying and if I have to have a drive I can get an external :/ Firmware flash didnt work may try another drive when I get time to look any other ideas welcome
