just wondering if someone could help me...

Thread Starter
I want to play Empire Total War Special Forces Edition but it requires 2.4 Ghz... I have a Dual Core E2180 running at 2Ghz... a 8500GT and 2 1GB 667 RAM's. Then I search about Overclocking... I manage to understand the basic... but then I notice that my BIOS was AMI... So i tried updating it cause it was not that user friendly, but I realize that MY motherboard is ECS P4900T-M2... check their saw a BIos update then DL it and Install it but the bios didn't change... so i tried tweaking it, but being a newbie myself I manage to make my PC crash and after a two tries I finally give up but not lose hope... so if any one here that can help me OC my pc I would Appreciate it... please help me I'm addicted to RTS and wanted to play Total War just overclocking it to 3Ghz below would really make me happy...

It will run on something slower, but wont look good.

It sounds you have an OEM computer (you didnt build it yourself, some major manufacturor did?) which has a locked bios which is impossible to overclock unless you are some brilliant hacker (which i kinda doubt since you are asking us)

If I were you, I would just spend the extra money and get a kit like this:

Getting an ECS mobo above 2.5GHZ on an E2180 is going to be a near impossible as i found out, i went for an Gigabyte G31M mobo and i easily hit 2.7GHZ on stock cooling. But maybe look at what to disable and check out the first link in my sig to Disable the settings that cause OC's to not work. Best of luck
