Anytime. I just wonder what the max vcore for a 32nm is? I know my 45nm is 1.55.

Also, someone mentioned something about the PLL which I think in Intels is something important to look at. It stands for Phase Lock Loop (IIRC). Couldn't hurt to read up on it.

So get the turbo power limit turned off, raise the LLC setting, and did we miss anything else.

Keep going I'm excited to see how far you can take it.

Intel is saying max is 1.52v but there are reports that it should be lower but many think the reports are bogus.

I haven't tried PLL yet because Sin wrote a guide for OC Gigabyte boards and said it didn't help his OC http://www.overclock.net/intel-gener...uide-p67a.html

And also this review mentions to leave it (see chart) http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=264300

Others are using it though so it might be worth trying if I am having problems.

I can't turn Turbo Power Limit off in my BIOS but can change the value. It is on Auto now with a value of 95. Should I raise it to 150.

That is all I can think of for now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As we're all new to these chips, and probably following one of the 4-5 guides out there on overclocking them, I figured I'd share something I've found to help stability and really helped me get my prime stable voltage down.

Lowering cpu pll down to 1.76-1.74 from 1.8 helped me out SUBSTANTIALLY!! Don't confuse this with internal cpu pll overvoltage, as I still have that on, but lowering the actual cpu pll voltage helped me out a bunch, dropped .03v off of my vcore needed for stability, and knocked 2c off max temps after 1hr prime. Your mileage may very, but thought if it only helped one of you, well then it was worth the time to write.

I originally started with a much higher pll than stock like it was for my i7 920. I started at 1.88, and went through so many stability issues. Out of pure luck, I lowered this by accident back down to stock and suddenly I was more stable. Went into bios to see what I changed, and it ended up being this voltage. I then lowered it past stock, and was COMPLETELY stable. For me, 1.76 is the sweet spot. It was better than 1.8 at 1.74, but not as good as 1.76.

With LLC Level 2:
Testing now at 1.4v in the BIOS (lowered from 1.46v). It reads 1.44v in CPU-Z so that is quite a change with LLC Level 2. Temps of course are higher at 74 max so far which is a little high so I will try 1.39v in BIOS.

YES RAISE IT! Sorry but that's the TDP thing everyone is talking about. See that CPU is a rated 95Watt TDP so the mobo is set to allow that or near that power through and only that much. When you raise it to 150 it should allow more current through (if I'm understanding it correctly). Even if my explanation of what it does is wrong that 150 is the same thing everyone was telling you about. Some boards just have things renamed to hide or misguide users.

With Turbo Power Limit up to 150 Windows is really slow when it starts. In other words the mouse barely moves. I tried it 2 times so maybe it is just a coincidence but I wonder if I need to change the Core Current Limit (Amps) as well. It is Auto at 97.

and i like to know how to set the TDP and TDC ??????
Turbo Power is TDP????
