I think you misunderatand what it means 4+1 means the CPU has 4 phases and the NB has 1 phase AFAIK

doesnt 4+1 VRM

stand for

4 phases for CPU
1 phase for RAM/NB?

correct me if i'm wrong

4+1.

4 for CPU. and +1 is an Extra phase. essentially +5 total.

Im guessing.. so dont take my word for it.

4+1 phase power refers to 4 phases for the CPU and 1 for the RAM. My boards have 8+2 which refers to 8 phases for the CPU and 2 for the RAM. Think about getting a new mobo if you are serious about overclocking.
