Amahi doesn't require all that much linux knowledge,most of the apps are 1-click installs with minimal configuration afterwards if any.There is the forum,live chat room and step-by-step guides available if you run into problems.If needed/wanted you can still learn the in & outs of linux using Amahi,as it runs on top of the Fedora 12 distro,soon to be 14.As for ram,if your using Amahi,2GB's will be plenty.
