1GB XFX GTS250 Vs. 1GB PowerColor HD4870 PCS+ - Page 2

No... just no at everything.
You did NOT get 45 - 50 FPS on this game with any Core2Duo at all.

I used a Phenom II X2 555 OC to 3.6GHz on this game + a GTS250 overclocked to maximum and I got 23FPS. The Phenom is better than that Core2Duo and I got less than half of the frames you report, with the same graphics card and all drivers updated.

You are just getting the illusion that it's running fast because it's 1FPS faster. It happens on GTA4, lag doesn't effect it as much as other games.

Get a quad core and then, and only then, will you get past 25FPS.

Using this CPU and a GTX460 I only got 60FPS, so there is no way you are getting 55FPS on that thing, and I am 1000% sure of that.

Nvidia cards just tend to play better in GTAIV.

Read my post, it's all there.
The system is in the sig, cpu is at 3.1 instead of 3.2. gpu oc'ed to 770/1050, doubt if it makes much of a difference. The video was on stock card. Drivers are latest. and my card is the 512MB version.

yeah otherwise I won't play this bad looking game; but that's only in the video, the pics in my post are on default just-installed games. Will make some better looking video once I get the time.
you can look up bone on gtaforums for his settings on enb series for gta iv.

Hurtful LOL. The 4870 is a great card, but NVIDIA cards tend to have more raw muscle.

And 4850/GTS 250 would have been a more fair comparison. And what AMD driver were you running?
