How can I tell if I fried my P5B Deluxe?

Thread Starter
I was overclocking my Q6600 on it. Had a failed overclock so the system wouldn't boot. Only problem is that I couldn't get it to reset and boot back up. I kept messing around with it and discovered I could finally get it to boot with one stick of ram in the 3rd slot only. I tested the other stick of ram in another computer and the ram is fine but I can not at all boot with both sticks of ram. I was able to update the bios to the newest 1238 and still no luck. I am using the computer right now as I am able to boot with the one stick of ram and everything seems to be working fine.

I would like to see what you guys say about this. If I need a new motherboard I would like to buy one if anybody has any LGA775 boards around. If there is something else I may be missing please help. Thanks Guys.

If you know that the RAM stick is OK, and it will only boot in the third slot, and not the other slots, then you can be pretty sure the motherboard is faulty.

alright I think it may now be my power supply and I have already gone and ordered a corsair 750w. I got it working with both my sticks of ram now but if I try to plug in my extra hard drives and cd drives it fails to boot. Hopefully this fixes it.

after resetting cmos and updating bios did you set all the ram settings manually? My board has trouble booting without setting ram manually

edit: read last post psu could def be the culprit. Unplug whatever u dont need, dvdr extra hdd etc.
