5850 OCing Questions

Thread Starter
I really would like to get the most out of my 5850 and would just like some insight on how to go about OCing it, its on just the stock cooler. I have looked at some guides online but would really just like some insight as im not really sure the guides are 100% accurate. Im shooting for 775/1125 speeds if higher is still within the safe limit im all ears biggrin.gif

if you're only shooting for 725/1125, use ATI Overdrive in the catalyst control center.

it's very easy to use, just turn up the sliders.

first, use overdrive in CCC to OC to 775/1125, then download furmark to do stability testing. if you can run furmark for one hour without crashing or artifacts, then you're stable.

I have left my fanspeed at auto for the overclock you are performing. Also, I think OCCT benchmark is a little more useful when you turn artifact checking on. Helped me get a stable OC a little faster than furmark.
