Yeah, go for it. Your temps are fine at the moment so i would say there's a big more room for a further overclock smile.gif

at that voltage it really seems like a STRONG chip... definitely go for more

What's the motherboard you're using..

For stability on C2Q use P95 LARGE FFT for at least 6h and you'll see that it's hard to hit high FSB..

That Vcore is OK but there's a lot of work to be done to make it P95 LARGE FFT stable with a C2Q..

I suppose you could do it if your mobo has nice CPU GTL a.k.a CPU Reference voltage options in BIOS..

CHEERS..

not sure why CPUZ is showing vcore that low, i have it set to 1.3125 in bios, also i tried the 4.0Ghz.. But the system just Hangs on the Starting Windows screen.. i have it running stable at 3.9Ghz now at 52C load temp.. any suggestions? System is a XFX 790i Ultra.. i know the nvidia chipsets had some problems but i got the board for cheap.. so anyway its an XFX 790i, 4GB G.Skill PC3-12800 RAM, Asus GeForce GTX 465, cooler is a Arctic Freezer 7 PRO (with a jimmy rigged fan, for the original fan failed), and a OCZ modXstream 750W

And on that screen shot you've been running only approx 5 min of P95 SMALL FFT (as your system's upp time is 6min total) which means nothing in the term of system stability..

just had Prime 95 running for a quick screenshot for Load temp, I have run it for several hours but i am unsure if it was running as LARGE or SMALL FTT, going to rerun now on Large and see what happens. thanks.

Regarding Vcore and LOAD temps it looks great but P95 LARGE FFT 6h or longer will show what's that OC made of..

KEEP YOUR Vcore UNDER 1.45V & CORE TEMPERATURES UNDER 75C AT ALL TIME!!!!

This makes my chip look weak.. frown.gif
but yeah ive seen these go way over 4GHz on air!
this makes me want to overclock mine more!
tell me how you get on!

I doubt that Q8400 can hit stable 500MHz FSB on any motherboard..

Your mobo can't do more than 450MHz FSB (max) with C2Q and to be P95 LARGE FFT stable..

I have P5Q Pro and Q9550 and my best P95 LFFT stable OC is 459MHz FSB..
