Well, there's no disputing that. As an aside, what do you think of the likes of FreeNAS and OpenFiler? How far up the chain do you think they can cut it in an enterprise? SME? Beyond that?

No idea - I intend to set up FreeNAS sometime soon as an iSCSI target on my home network, so I'll be able to post some first-hand experience in the near future (hopefully!).

They won't get far in the private sector, but they do appear as viable options for Small business, even charity. I've seen a couple OpenFiler boxes in production environments where I work.
