you can turn off intel speedstep... but i wouldnt do that since the chip is designed to step up and down... and really you dont need a 4.5GHz 24/7 OC... if its not doing anything you will be good with 1.6...
if you want to lower your voltage switch your offset to - then whatever amount you want to drop your voltage by.
I've swtiched offset to "-", "0.005v" but it didn't decrease the cpu voltage but actually increased it to 1.37-1.39v. (from ~1.32v)
Hey, Chaballa. If your CPU is anything like mine, I'm sure you could decrease your resulting Vcore @4.5Ghz. Just set the Vcore Offset to negative and set ATV to 0.004v (or it will give more voltage automatically). Begin testing by reducing Vcore with the Offset setting. Also, disable Spread Spectrum & LLC. Enable PLL Overvoltage can help stabilize high OCs, but I don't think it should be necessary (IIRC).
Is your CPU clock fluxuating during IBT?
On your Device Manager issue, maybe it's one of these I see in mine...? I don't believe those were anything I have plugged in, but I could be wrong. Likewise, are you sure it's nothing you have plugged in?
When you say you see the post screen twice, is there white text appearing between this? Or does your PC literally power down, then boot again?
Yes, most people are using the Turbo Ratio. I use the CPU Ratio. It was limited up to 33x when I first got it, but updating to BIOS 0414 unlocked it completely (well, up to 255x). It did not, however, fix the cold booting I was having. That was due to my P8P67-M PRO auto setting my RAM timings wrong.
I did change Vcore Offset to negative and set ATV to 0.004v to but didn't work, it would change it back to 0.005v, but eitherway it didn't decrease the cpu voltage but increased it instead(?).
It was originally on "+", "0.005v" which gave ~1.32v @ 4.GHz.
When i changed to "-", "0.005v" cpu voltage increased to ~1.37-1.39v in windows.
Sorry whats IBT?
For Device Manager i think it must be the "A2O8LUP1 IDE Controller" but i can't find that install option in asus cd..
I just tried 45 CPU Ratio and disabled Turbo but it would just run at 3.3GHz unless i enable the turbo. I'm using 0601 bios btw, im not sure if i can change back to 0414, etc.
