ASUS P8P67-M PRO OCing Guide - Page 74

Sleep works fine here when I set PLL disabled and lower my overclock to 4.4GHz.

If you leave it on Auto it is probably still enabled knowing ASUS.

I think I just preferred the older software that the crosshair IV used (all the programs werent combined into 1 interface). I got so used to that then trying to use this it just feels so "beta" if you will.

When I do exactly the same, sleep works but once I get in my system after sleep mode, there's a total freeze.I can move the mouse but once I click at an app,any app, even my browser, everything freezes. And keep in mind, this happens even without any overclock at all, everything at default values.

That's really strange. Have you run memtest86+? Memory issues are often the cause behind mysterious freezes like that.

Yes have done extensive ram testing, and I had the same problem eariler with another reputable and fast set of ram, specifically Crucial,at same speed.(1600).

Have been at the overclock game since 2000,and know how to test hardware.Let me assure you that all the well known tests have been run and the system passes with flying colours. I even lowered the overclock at 4,6 Ghz, although it had passed all stress tests for hours,at 4,8GHz.This system works fine, until you want to use sleep mode, and from time to time gives me the cold boot thingie.

If I ignore these 2 minor problems ,I'm very happy with the board. Now it is my suspicion it is a bios glitch, but until I can confirm it I will take no more of your time guys.

I want to thank you for your time and polite answers.

Hmm, I've actually never tried sleep on my PC. Now you got me curious if I have the same problem. (Sorry for chiming in late on the conversation )

BTW - Has anyone ever had any trouble with any of their rear USB ports? Just curious. I've been having occasional problems, and I can only figure it's either my mobo's port(s), or every USB device I own... I'm gonna be POed if I gotta send my board back again.

Wow, I'm never doing that again.

Yep, sleep sucks. It's more like the kind of "sleep" you get from a veterinarian. lol

Big problem, though. This made my USB issue worse than ever. When I finally returned to Windows, my non-native desktop Gadgets weren't there (the clock was). Also, the "Gadget" menu wouldn't open. And of course, USB port problem in the way of both my TV tuner and WiFi reciever not working (tried in every port on the board, rebooted, BIOS defaults). It finally dawned on me that my mouse was working fine this whole time in my case's USB port, so I stuck my WiFi in the other case port, and the damn thing worked.

What I thought was the weirdest was the way my gadgets popped back up once I got connected(?). Even the "Gadgets" menu that I had initiated the opening of earlier showed up. Or maybe it's the way the mobo ports proceeded to work after that... (BIOS glitch?)

Windows 7 also had sleep issues from the start... so I am still wondering if its a MS thing that needs to be updated. maybe a little from both sides...

What BIOS comes on the B3 revision motherboards? Hopefully it is 0404.

Edit: Nvm, just reread the OP

perhaps - but I know I never had a sleep issue prior to installing my B3 board.
