Pulled the trigger in a 1155 upgrade!

Decided to give Intel a try for the first time, this performance/price for the 1155 finally brought me over.
Using whats in my sig except cpu/mobo/ram of course, which will be replaced by...

Intel i5 2500K
Gigabyte GA-P67-UD4 LGA 1155 socket
GSkill PI 2x2Gb DDR3 1600Mhz 6-8-6-24

You will not be disappointed. Intel is more powerful then AMD, especially in gaming.
The cpu you got is better then an i7-950 so you should be happy biggrin.gif

I just made basically the same upgrade, and COULD NOT POSSIBLY BE HAPPIER..
I feel like the 2500 k was made just for me, Its like the CPU I always wanted but didn't exist, BUT NOW DOES !!!! Enjoy buddy thumb.gif

yeah i was impressed when the benchmarks were finally released... love AMD, but i needed something a little better single threaded performance.

haha i bet ill feel the same way. was going to go with the asus evo, but with all the problems i was seeing in the ASUS P67 thread i decided to stay with gigabyte. no problems with my current one yet!

i just ordered the same ram kit and a UD7 from newegg. i'll be going to microcenter in the next few days to grab my CPU since it is about 40-50 less than new egg. just have to decide if i can afford the extra 100 for the i7 or just get the i5. cant wait to see your unboxing thread and make my own smile.gif

there's nothing I do that would take use of hyperthreading. Gaming and excel are pretty much all I do on this comp so its not worth the extra $100 for me.
