AMD + ATI Gamer $800 Build

Thread Starter
Building a second desktop for the household and looking to get some input as I have been a little preoccupied since my last build a few years back.
It will be used with a Samsung 226BW @ 1650x1050 for reference.
This is aimed to be a optimal value build for Gaming and somewhat futureproof for small upgrades to keep it going.
Not really looking to go crossfire in the future with this rig either.

With a little bit of reading and research I've concluded the following build to maximize a budget of $800 CAD.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 Ghz $150 @ Canada Computers

Gigabyte 790XTA UD4 AM3 $120 @ Infonec
XFX ATI HD 5770 1 GB $150 @ Newegg
G.SKILL ECO Series DDR3 1333MHz (PC3-10666) 2x2 GB (7-7-7-21-2N)$65 @ CC
WD Caviar BLK 1 TB 32 MB Cache $60 @ CC
Cooler Master CM690 II Black Edition $80 @ CC
Corsair VX550 $80 @ CC
Asus DRW-24B1ST $28 @ CC

Total = $733 + TX = $82

My main concern being the reliability for the Gigabyte motherboard as I am predominantly an Asus user.
However this Gigabyte mobo appears to be highly recommended.
If you have a more suitable mobo for this build let me know

Mostly everything has been spec'd with prices from CanadaComputers which for once seems to have the best prices for the components I am looking for.

If there is anything obvious that would be better suited for any of the listed components let me know as well.

Thanks in advance Everyone!

Umm...for $150ish you could probably get a 5830, either open box or not(example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...367R-_-Product). But about the mobo, Gigabyte is great, always dependable.

Also, the vx550 is good(i have one), but you could get a this instead and save money considering thats a very good power supply, and will easily run all of your stuff.

1333 7-7-7 is only about equal to 1600 9-9-9 in most benchmarks.
I prefer other cases to CM 690 II especially for the price
That ASUS DVD drive is highly overpriced

Shop at http://www.ncix.com/, if you're in Ontario or BC they have stores in the Toronto and Vancouver area, and ship nationwide. You can buy everything there and price match to the other stores. Might save some hassle

Those are all the points I have to make. Now on to the suggestions:
G.Skill ECO 1600 7-8-7 - $64.91 Price matched
GTX 460 768MB Cyclone - 768MB, but much better than HD 5770 and cheaper - $150, $130 AR
LIAN LI Lancool PC-K58 - $70.80, or PC-K60WB (comes with side window, all fans) for $83.
ASUS DRW-24B1ST at NCIX - only $18.81 after price match
XFX 650W Modular Power Supply - $90, $60 after rebate

Too look at when deciding a GPU. Very close in price, now sure about performance.
