Solved the switching off problem but i cant overclock my gfx card much further than 920/1400 which is fair enough atleast i know now the psu was causing my pc to switch off... i got the 1000 taking into consideration i might aswel get another 6950 down the track when they become a little cheaper and now i got all the power ill ever need .. Would i see noticable performance gains with another 6950 in xfire on a 4x lane ?
Yep, your second card will perform 8-10% slower than a full x16 lane, but it won't effect crossfire performance much at all.

It's like 1-2% slower, not 10% slower.

Yes it is, check the chart i already posted. It's anywhere between 5-8%. At x8 it's 1-2%.
