Overclocking my old q9400, need help.

Thread Starter
The pins on the Freezer 7 finally broke after I reapplied the paste so it's on the stock cooler, so I just want to bump it up from 2.6GHz to 3.0GHz for it's new owner.

I've got PCI-E at 100, +2 on ddr2 voltage, +1 on NB voltage, then I've got it at 1.3v vcore. That sound about right?

Also what is the max safe voltage on this thing? 1.35v for 45nm right?

I think you can do low to mid 1.4v as long as tempsa re good but I prefer to stay below 1.4 for a 247 oc and you prob should since you are on stock hsf

For such a small overclock, it is possible that you might not need to change any voltage at all. My q9300 can do 3.1 ghz without any changes to voltages.

Should be able to run 3GHz on near stock voltage.

Max Vcore & Max Vtt are both 1.45V from Intel's 45n spec sheet. You also shouldn't need any motherboard voltage alterations, leave em on auto.
