5.0 Ghz i5-2500K beats a 5.27 Ghz Gulftown

Thread Starter
Now before all of the "no way" posters start chiming in, take a good look at these benchmarks results...

The i5-2500K using only an air cooler did beat the single stage vapor phase change cooler (at -40 degrees!) that was cooling the Gulftown designed by Liquid Nitrogen Overclocking (in some of the benchmarks):

And here is the video showing the benchmarks results on the 5.27 GHz Gulftown as they were being run

being faster or not faster is totaly depended on application

if application can't support more than 4 cores

ofc sandy bridge wins

in my eyes sandy bridge wins anyway because of funny price 999 usd

There's also the fact that the Sandy Bridge's IMC is clocked at the same frequency as the CPU is. So it'll be faster because of the IMC.

I looked at both links and the youtube video but not seeing where the i-5 beat the 980x. heres a ss of the 5ghz i-5 benchmarks from the link.

Not doubting that the 5ghz is a formidable chip, just not seeing what you are. The youtube showed Wprime and cinebench and the 980x was twice as fast wasn't it?
