i5 2500k / P8P67 Pro Build

Thread Starter
This will be a complete build, have no monitor or anything left to use for this computer. This is what I've come up with so far. I'm mainly gonna use this to play World of Warcraft, COD Black Ops and GTA IV. As for the HD, I'm guessing the 120gb SSD will probally be plenty for all I will use it for. I'm guessing the best thing to do will be to wait for the GTX 560 to be released before I decide on a graphics card. What is a good case, card brand for graphics and ram recommendation? I'd like to add a good heatsink for air overclocking at some point and would like to overclock the graphics card.

Any help / ideas would be greatly appreciated.

PSU - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX
SSD - OCZ Vertex 2 120g
CPU - 2500K
MB - ASUS P8P67 Pro
Monitor - Asus 23.6"

Ram anything really imo but Gskill and Corsair have quality for a good price generally, Graphics card for nvidia I would go with Evga or Asus since they both generally get noted as being quite good, Case is very broad Cooler master has some great ones that wont break the bank though with cable management and other nice features, and air cooler the reviews I have seen on sb used a hyper 212+ from coolermaster add a second fan with some good tim and I think it would work especially if your on a budget

CASE: Corsair 600T its huge but very pretty. And hella easy to install into. Great Air cooling and lots of room for a huge air cooler for your CPU if you so desire.

RAM: G Skill Ripjaw X CAS6. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231444&cm_re=g_skill_12800-_-20-231-444-_-Product

So I ended up spending way more than I intended but o well. Already have everything set up just trying to figure out this overclocking thing and such.

Corsair 600t Case
Asus GTX 460 Top
2500k
P8P67 Pro MB
Corsair 750TX
Got the Samsung 2330 LCD to go with it and a Death Adder mouse

Still using the stock cpu cooler but overall I'm pretty happy.

Had the processor running at a 44X multiplier and it was stable playing games but wouldn't handle Prime95. It booted fine several times but then the BIOS decided it didn't want to boot and I had to drop back to 41X to get it to boot. Voltage problem?

Also, does anyone know why this mother board will try to boot 1-3 times before it decides it's actually going to boot? Not really a problem and it is recognizing the RAM fine just kinda annoying.

To solve Boot issues:

1. Go to BIOS and turn off Marvel Controller for SATA (if you are not using it)
2. Go to BIOS and enable PCI-E power on, then turn on your PC and do a Shut down. Now turn on your PC again

The above info was from the ASUS p8p67 thread.

O yea, the 600t is HUGE like was said but actually seems alot lighter than the 902. I got the 902 from Best Buy originally but one of the doors had a bad bend in it and it would not stay latched at the front. When I went to take it back the guy told me that someone had ordered a 600t but then returned it so I ended up taking it. The build quality makes the 902 seem like something a 10 year old made out of cans! The wire management makes me want a huge window just so I can stare at it all day.

Thanks for the information TH3 original, I'll do this then check out that thread. Which p8p67 thread did this come from? disabling the controller worked and I was curious as to what other tips there were for this board. Thanks.
