cpu-z and 6970?

I had troubles getting the card into the PCI socket, but it's running just fine. Not sure what would cause this:

Did it recognize your last card? I have CPU-Z version 1.54 and it doesn't have that problem.

Yes, it did. The last card was the GTX 460. It was in there for about 24 hours and I put in this new card.

The ATI drivers won't recognize my graphics card either. I keep on trying to install new drivers and it won't work. The only driver that worked was through my provided disc by Diamond.

I'm wondering if this could have anything to do with the graphics card just barely fitting into the PCI slot (though it's running fine)??? I tried reseating it but I can't get it in better.

Sorry for the dumb question but it is in the right PCI-e slot? It should fit in perfectly. What does CCC report?

Same issue on v1.56. Does it really matter though? Works fine and I have it flashed to 6970. I have a 6950.

CPUz just needs a new version to come out for it to be recognized.

Yes, it's in the correct PCI slot. It doesn't fit perfectly. Maybe I'll try reinstalling the motherboard, even though the motherboard should be on perfectly as well.

CCC reports that it's running at proper speeds.

But when I go to ATI.com and download their newest drivers and install them, the driver installer can't recognize my card... like what the f?

Have you tried running driver sweeper in safe mode to ensure all NVIDIA drivers are gone? If not I'd strongly advise it, also delete any ATI drivers while you're at it and try for a fresh install. I had issues swapping from NVIDIA to ATI this fixed it for me.

I should've thought of that! Thanks. I'll try that out and see if the issue is fixed.

As for the card: Do you (or anyone) have any words of wisdom on the fit? Once I managed to plug the card in, I had to force the card over by about a cm to get screwed into the side of the case. So I don't know if that would put stress on the card (ex. causing bending on the card which could result in cracking? probably not? the cards are flexible enough? idk).

I'm going to take a look at my motherboard tomorrow and try to see if I can loosen a couple screws on one end. I don't know really... I think the Antec 900 screwhole alignment was difficult, and it was hard to get the motherboard screwed into the Antec 900... could've made it off by a bit, causing issues with the card... I've got to check into it now.
