GPU thermal Compund: AS5 vs Stock

I decided to put some AS5 on the GPU core with stock xfx 5770 cooler, and I got some really weird results.

Ambient temp ~ 65F, all tests done with side panel off. All tests are done with CCC auto fan control, except highest OC, to which i set the fan to 100% Also, all temps are Celsius.

*Full load = 3min furmark burn

Stock Cooler w/ Stock Thermal Paste:

Stock clock @ 850/1200:

Idle: 43
Full Load: 65

Casual OC Clock @ 900/1300:

Idle: 44
Full Load: 66

Highest OC Clock @ 950/1420:

Idle: 45
Full Load: 72
(Full burn 100% fan)

Stock Cooler w/ AS5:

Stock clock @ 850/1200:

Idle: 40
Full Load: 66

Casual OC Clock @ 900/1300:

Idle: 41
Full Load: 69

Highest OC Clock @ 950/1420:

Idle: 43
Full Load: 61
(Full burn 100% fan)

This was really weird. I found that all idle temps went down, while the load temps went up, but when i got to my highest OC, there was a massive plummet, 11C! Now, this is a good thing. A little weird though. Probably something to do with heat dissipation and fan speed and blah blah. But yeah, when I saw that my full load temp wasn't going higher than 61C, I was pretty confused, so i re-tested all the temps and they all stayed the same. Im satisfied with the temps, but im still a little confused.
Will update in a week.

AS5 has a 200 hour cure time.

That might explain why your load temps are higher at all but 100% fan.

Give it a few weeks.

That's why I try to keep people away from ASS5. It's decent TIM as they all are but it has a long wait time before full efficiency.
