Problems with ATI Catalyst Software -- won't install!

Detailed version: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
So, when the new CCC (Catalyst Control Panel) was released, or the preview of it I should say, I downloaded it. After installing it, I looked for it and no where was it to be found, I tried opening the old CCC thinking perhaps it replaced it but it was the same as before.

I thought, well... I should uninstall all of it and try again, I did so and much to my dismay installing the new CCC didn't work. I thought oh well, and went to install the normal CCC again and guess what... the "software" won't show up.

I've looked in the installation path, and in the start menu, and I've even searched for it and it just isn't here! So I currently have no CCC software on my computer and I want it, preferably though, the preview.
Short version: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Installed the "new" CCC preview, the new CCC didn't show up, uninstalled everything and then tried again, same story, tried the old CCC, didn't show up. I'm now stuck without any CCC software.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and I believe I had all the latest updates at the time.

Can anyone possibly tell me why when I install it, the CCC software isn't installed?

must be an install fault. i had issues with CCC and used Driver Sweeper in safe mode to clean the CCC files and drivers completely and then it was fine.

Hey iy should be under the Catalyst Control Center and no matter what im running the same os and havent ever had that proble,.You can try rebooting it in safe mode and remove all the Ati drivers out and reboot in regular mode and reinstall them and it should show up like i said.Let me know the outcome and Good Luck.

Mmm, I might have to give that a go if I can't solve it any other way.

I'd rather not clear out the drivers, that'd be more hassle than it's worth for me.

Control panel, no. Programs and features, yes -- I found ATI Catalyst Install Manager".

when u right click on the desktop, in the drop down dox, does it say catalyst control center? Also when u say in dosent show up, do u mean in the right hand corner with the other icons? if so they changed the ccc icon to a new one.

why i would do, is in device manager remove the vga(s). and then run a registry cleaner. reboot and then try and reinstall.
you can get registry cleaners from out download section.

By VGA(s) I take it you mean my graphics drivers? I'd rather not... I've got an iMac and the default drivers by Windows recognize the display as the secondary display instead of primary and I have to plug a second screen in to get it working.

And naa, it's an iMac... and a big guess too. 6970M (~80w?) i7 @ ~3.2GHz (~95w), 27" screen (~150w) overall it should be no more than 400.
