Hmm.....6870 vs X-fire 4850s performance

post #1 of 4
Thread Starter
I currently have two ATI Radeon 4850s and I am expecting a Radeon 6870 pretty soon. I took the advice of one of my friends and waited until the 6000 series came out to upgrade. And I don't need the high-end performance of the 6900s. Anyway, I can't seem to find a clear answer on this online.

Will I see a performance increase or decrease with the one 6870 over the dual 4850s?

The 4850s are @ their stock clock speeds --> 625 and 1000

And I do plan on having a 6870 crossfire setup in the future

You will see at least a 30% increase. Also, these cards run great in crossfire... so you also have an option to upgrade to.
