Motherboard - GA-EP45
RAM - you should be fine.
CPU - if you're having no problems with the E8400, see no reason why to upgrade. if you're serious about it. then a quad core. Q9550 or something like that.

But 400$ to spend on a dead socket.... You could start buying new hardware with that.

Something along those lines and keep your case, PSU and GPU for now and then upgrade your GPU when you get more money.

I think that came out to just over $400 and that will last you awhile.

Yeah, I noticed that right after I posted.

I figured the 1333 should overclock decently.

It would a little but you won't be able to mess that much with the timings if he decides to go too high OC'ing. Only reason I put the CL7's in there. But then again, he didn't say anything about OC'ing, but being on OCN and his previous system is OC'ed I figured I would throw it out there

I agree you can get into a decent sandy system for about 400 bucks. Go for it. 2500k and the best mobo ram you can find.

$450 gives you some better stuff.
