Samsung Pinpoint F3/F4 v. WD Caviar Black

Thread Starter
I'm putting together a list of parts to buy for my new desktop, but I'm having a little trouble deciding what HDD to purchase. I've never set up RAID so I'm not too familiar with that.

I have a couple questions regarding HDDs and RAID performance.

1. What would be a better (RAID 0)?
-Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s (x2)
or
-Samsung Spinpoint F4 2TB 5400 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s (x2)
or
-Samsung Spinpoint F3R 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s (x2)

2. Should I just buy one hard drive and put the saved money towards a SSD?

do RAID 0 and an SSD . I always go with the blacks, 640GB. get two of those and then save up for an SSD

I don't know much about the caviar black but I have 2 F3s in RAID0 and I couldn't be happier. They're very silent and very fast

No, the f4 are 5400 rpm whereas the f3 are 7200. I forgot to mention that my array is a "fake one". I used windows 7 stripped option on the two f3.
Bobsmith, you have the option in crystalmark to copy the results, you can then paste them in txt format.
I never figured out how to copy paste a specific window from my desktop like you do guys *ashamed of myself*

Currently running a CrystalDiskMark on a single 2TB F4 for you.

I'll update the post when it's finished.
