Hi,

How is this build for an HTPC?

HP Pavilion Slimline s5780t series: Core i5-2300 2.8GHz, 6GB Memory, 1TB Hard Drive, Windows 7 Premium for $594.99

Dimensions on the box are: 15.91"(L) x 4.43"(W) x 12.24"(H)

Thanks!

An i5 is a little overkill for a HTPC.
Find something with an i3 and you'll be golden.

thanks!

I will look for an core i3 deal, actually am waiting for the SandyBridge to be released.

How about the case, psu, etc? Are these pre-built machines good alternative to DIY?

I am technical and can build one but seems like these slimlines are a good deal, what do you think?

I am not planning on putting a tuner card in this box. It will simply house my movies/pics/songs and act as a HTPC/NAS combo
