[Yahoo] Scientists warn California could be struck by winter ‘superstorm’ - Page 3

I've visited California, and it's a pretty neat place. I can see why people want to live there, but I'm not sure that I would because there are too many people there already. I would be very interested in the science behind this predicted storm, but the article is sadly short on how it would form and what would happen. To me, it just looks like old-fashioned fear mongering on a slow news day.

And those of you cheering for the destruction of the state - bad form. This is peoples' lives we are talking about here.

I don't want the people to die. I just want the state to go under.

Well if this does happen, prepare for high price on imported stuff and winter time agriculture, if we can't move the stuff.

Are these the same scientists that came up with "conclusive" data about global warming?

For some reason, I'm not worried, I think I'll stay where I'm at for the time being.

Let's hope you won't be eating those words later on.

It's not about global warming.

There have been, in the last several hundred years, record rainfalls that last 40+ days. Take a look at the inland valley, from Bakersfield to Redding, (where most of the produce comes from on this side of the country) and it is pretty flat. Historical records show that it floods every couple of hundred years and at one time was an inland sea.

I'm sure California can afford to pay some Canadians to come down and show you guys how to drive in two feet of powder.
