Thread Starter
so i am pushing this 790i up the hill and i am in windows runing prime with a vcore of 1.384 at 4.143 fully loaded

but when i am idle it shows a vcore of 1.424 do i need to be concerned about this? i have been warned to stay away from the 1.4vcore so i am very confused at this point can someone else help me?

with those figures LLC is off. Don't change the LLC setting.

OP, what you are seeing is called vDroop. Its designed to drop like that. As long as temps are under control, you shouldn't have much to worry about (is the general rule). There are exceptions though.

I would say your Vcore is OK..

Keep your LOAD Vcore under 1.40V and CORE temperatures under 75C at all time for 24/7 usage..

CHEERS..

You are slightly over (over is over), but idle vcore isn't too big of a deal. Load vcore is what matters.
Finally an update

What's p1 and p2???

First try to boot with 6x multi and 500MHz FSB to avoid beig held back by insufficient Vcore..

If you have troubles booting with 500MHz FSB (2000MHz QDR) then upp vNB by 0.04V and try to boot again..(also with 6x multi)

If that doesn't help then upp vFSB by 0.02V (add 0.04V max)..also with 6x multi

If that doesn't help then it's FSB wall of the board..

CHEERS..
