Case Swap Question?!

Thread Starter
I currently have a Gateway FX6831-01 Computer and i wanted to switch the Case , PSU , and GPU. Everything else will remain the same as in the Gateway case. I know the GPU is any easy fit. However, i just want to make sure the case itself can be swapped. Thanks if any more info is needed please let me know, i was looking at the antec 900/1200

The only thing you have to worry about will be the front panel headers. If they use a standard connection that any case's front panel can plug into then your fine. If they use a proprietary design, your screwed.

I'd also recommend, an better cpu cooler while your swapping it.

Can't stress this enough!: Whatever you do ditch the power supply and buy a good other one of much better quality.

Those Gateway (also goes for EMachines computers) power supplies are terrible and VERY low quality which when it fails can take out the motherboard and other components.

how can i find out about the front panel headers?

I mainly want to swap out the GFX card 5850 --> 6970. If i can keep this case and just swap the GFX card and PSU i would be more than happy i just want to make sure i have enough airflow for the card itself only have a 120mm at the rear of the case. Any suggestions would be welcome And yes eyefinity nty to the 580 gtx or 570

Just open your case up and look at how the front panel headers are set up and compare them to whichever one you are thinking about getting.
