Sorry another thread..help with build

Thread Starter
this is my first build..i will not be overclocking..im not a gamer..i will do basic video encoding and basic photo editing with this pc and general pc tasks

i have an actual budget of about 1500 i already spent 154 of that on a monitor

i would like to spend as little as i possibly can without ruining the quality of the build i would like it to last me atleast 4 years if not more

the case i have yet to decide on i will have to do that my self i figure that will cost anywhere from 100-200

i was thinking going with the i5-2500 to save on cost instead of the 2600

i think i would like 8gb of ram

windows home premium

60-60gb ssd

video card i dont think i need anything to extreme as i wont be doing any gaming just watching hd content and what not

an internal hard drive for storage anything from 600gb-1tb is good

and of course all the other standard stuff i need dvd rom motherboard etc..

any questions feel free to ask

Here is what I recommend:

Processor: i7 2600* ~$300
Motherboad; ASUS p8p67 Pro ~$200
RAM: Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 ~$120
GPU: Galaxy 60XGH6HS3HML GTX 460 1Gb ~$170
SSD: Intel X25-M SSDSA2MH080G2K5 (80Gb) ~$180
HDD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3R HE103SJ (1Tb)~$100
OS: Win 7 HP OEM ~$100
Case: Antec Three Hundred Black ~$60
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-600CX ~$70
DVD Drive: ASUS Black DVD Burner ~$20

Total: ~$1320

*I would recommend to get a K version just in case you change your mind for only ~$29 more... but if you really don't ever plan on overclocking... then don't get the K version.

If I went over your budget (when factoring in taxes+shipping), get these instead;

Processor: Intel Core i5-2500* ~$200
or/and
SSD: OCZ Vertex Series OCZSSD2-1VTX60G (60Gb) ~ $120

Total: ~$1160-1240

* I strongly recommend the i7 over the i5, since the i7 has Hyperthreading which will be incredibly useful with video and photo editing/encoding.

Also, Born's build is pretty solid since you won't be overclocking, you won't need an aftermarket cooler. Then again, an i7-950 costs the same as the i5 at microcenter.

Where are you located?
