HORROR story becomes SUCCESS!!! **PICS** **MY STORY**

This is an extension to the original thread, if you would like to take a quick look here is the link:

My Story:

I am 17 and this is my first attempt to build a liquid cooling system for my desktop. I have been building computers for a good while now, I think four of them now and was inspired by this forum to dive under water. Without the help of many members and the builds many of you all provided I would have never made it this far smile.gif.

Design Process:
I began brainstorming for ideas around 8 months ago... yes an entire 8 months. I had to wait for christmas to come around so I got a head start in the designing that went into my system. This was one of the most confusing parts of the whole experience. I went through so many cases, so many color schemes and parts. I was so indecisive with the project as a whole. Plus I didn't understand many of the basics and soon found out alot of my early designs were extremely faulty. But I learned from those previous mistakes and read more. I went through tons of threads mostly from this forum and kept picking up on essentials and procedures, all the information I needed to really create something functional. Eventually a few months ago I made an impulsive buy and bought a corsair obsidian 800D case. This at least set the foundation for what I was and could do with my system. As the time where I needed to make my final choices I settled down and went with the following water cooling components.

Water Cooling Components:
-EK-Supreme HF High Flow
-2x EK-FC480 Nickel/Acetal
-XSPC RX360 Radiator
-XSPC RX240 Radiator
-Laing DDC 3.25
-XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Reservoir
-silver compression fittings
-red premochill tubing 5/8OD 3/8ID

Hardware:
-asus rampage extreme iii
-intel i7 930
-6gb corsair ddr3 dominator ram(1600mhz)
-antec hcp 1200
-dual gtx 480's

Building and Installing:
This reminded me of the first time I built a computer. No matter how much you read you ALWAYS run into something you don't know how to deal with. If you read the original thread you could see just some of the issues I came across during my build. Some of these include trouble with the graphic cards, the mother board becoming faulty and so on. The entire build because of the many delays took about a week and a half. Also modding the case was not a simple task, although my dad has the tools, they were not appropriate for what we needed to do. For the most part his tools were to large to maneuver and use on the case including the saw. But with a little improvising smile.gif and teeth gritting we got it done. I have to give to Nvidia, the boards are very durable. We even drilled holes through the screws because some were stripped and they still stand strong. I have to admit we may have been a little rough but it just shows the quality being put into their product. Anyways (sorry for rambling about nothing) once everything was completed and installed after about four days we leak tested it. Joyfully it passed but... when we booted the computer it wouldn't boot... Which turned into a faulty mother board. I havn't really been able to go into full detail but it was frustrating, excited and very slow... I wanted it THEN not later.

Special Thanks:

-To all the members who assisted me and answered my questions
-all the inspiring builds displayed
-the creator of OCN water cooling club
-my father and family members that pitched in

To all who are scared or who are having trouble, I know what it felt like. I wanted to give up at times but trust me PUSH through. Just take your time and figure things out, take it slow because in the end your final product will look much better and it is something you can be very proud to show off to us and everyone else. Dont give up smile.gif.

PICS!!!!!!
