Just made a x58 platform

And gaming just doesnt seem to work very well

It seems like whenever some event is about to happen the game stutters for a second or two and then it continues on, tried reinstalling drivers and still the same thing...I have a couple ideas as what it may be but I'd like a second opinion

1: Im using a Western Digital Blue Drive, could it be that the game is loading the portion that is going to happen next and the game halts for it to load?

2: Im using some G.Skill 1600 ram in dual channel mode, I know x58 is typically paired with triple channel ram but I just dont have the cash for it yet, could this be the culprit?

Other than that Im not sure what to do lol, thanks for any help in advance

Definitely not a RAM issue, stuttering isn't from that.

Stuttering is usually a sign that something is trying access your HD, which I'm not sure is the fastest HD out there. It could just be load times loading more textures or what not from your drive.

Is it like a micro-stutter? (Then again, that usually only happens in multi-GPU setups).

Its by no means a fast HDD drive, its a 2.5 Blue Drive 250GB model that I pulled from my old 1201n I had a while back

And as for BFBC2 its in general mouse lag

its more like a complete stop for a second

I used a Caviar Blue drive with my desktop in the past. I had the same sort of behavior, until I had the spare money to shell out for a much larger and faster Caviar Black.

Not to say that you couldn't have other issues, but the Caviar Blue never treated me well, so

ill definitely keep that in mind, ill have to just wait it out until I have enough to get some 2.5 black models, I planned on raiding them but ill just have to sit it out for now

Why not go for a 3.5 hd? 2.5 are typically used in laptop and are more expensive than 3.5 far as I recall

3.5 inch HDD's are also faster due to the way the needle spins fastest around the outside and having a larger platter. I would say it's definitely the HDD.
