Actually its the complete opposite SSDs are much more reliable and last longer they have no moving parts.
From what I have read in this thread you seem very ignorant and not taking any of the advice into consideration at all.
And a mod should move this thread to Intel and out of the AMD section

Grab a Core i3 and overclock the heck out of it. I think that would be quite a bit more fun than building a rig with outdated hardware.

Why not spend that money towards upgrades on your sig rig then? Maybe a 955BE or 1055T, some faster RAM, better hard drives (Samsung F3 1TB's come to mind for RAID0), and maybe a GPU upgrade.

defragging an SSD will destroy it! They don't need defrag'd....thats what TRIM is for.

SSD's are the best.

As for your build, well atleast get a board that will allow overclocking! A g31 is complete garbage.

If you want to save money but still get a sweet setup, build an I3 socket 1156 setup. Those are THE best bang for the buck. Not to mention, DDR3 ram is cheaper right now than DDR2, so you'll save a few bucks there to put toward the more expensive CPU.

EDIT- I see someone else had the same thought about an I3 build while I was typing. Hooray for common sense
