in one of the corners it should say 1.x x being a number or letter...
either in the bios menu or on bootup it should say it i think. don't know exactly.

Hmmm i still have delay 15 second before military class 2 logo showup so best way is unplug my logitech dual action gamepad and when i want to use it in game then i plug it but after i enter desktop.
So logitech updated driver still cant fix this.... i guess this is bios or mobo driver issue.

Hi.

New to this forum.
Recently updated my rig with the gd80 board and 2600k.

Followed the guide thats been recommended here.

Not sure my oc has gone all that well though. As of now I only get to 4,5ghz with 1.365 Vcore. Temps at idle=39c and under prime95=72.

By what i´ve been reading in this post, many can oc about 4,7-4,8 at that vcore. I bought the gd80 instead of gd65 thinking that it would be easier to get an oc stable.

Any pionters on what to do to get a little more juice out om my cpu?

/ Benjamin

I read another post that it should be on a sticker somewhere but i don't see it on the back one (just has general info such as B3 and when it was made).
CPU-Z will tell you.

Probably an incompatible legacy controller that the BIOS doesn't know.

Did you enable Internal PLL Overvoltage? Is your RAM stable?

No one can guarantee that your CPU will do well, but it's likely not the motherboard that's causing your problems. It's probably the RAM or CPU.

I did at first but after a couple of failed boots I reverted to original settings and started over. Seems like I forgot to turn it on again.

Turned it on. So my settings now are:
Eist-enabled

Vdroop-auto(only option is auto or low?)

C-state-enabled
package c-state-no limit

overspeed protection-disabled

All voltage settings are set to auto except core voltage (1.360)

Since I wanted to get lower idle temps I turned on c1e + Intel svid.
(Which resultet in lower cpu speed but same core voltage.)

Havnt tried to oc any more because since I made the above changes, something happend after reboot. In windows the mouse and keyboard didnt work. Rebooted and the computer turned on for a couple of seconds and rebooted again. Then everything was fine. However, everytime I reboot or turn on the computer it does that same thing. Reboots after a few seconds and then works like normal.
Have run prime95, mark vantage and mark11 without any problems

Why the reboot.

(by the way, the beta bios that is out for this board, is there a changelog?)

Just as a note on this mobo watch what you plug into the usb ports. Many things cause it not to post... I'm really hating this board. So many issues. should have gone asus or evga for a extra $30

That sounds like the usual PLL overvoltage glitch. Set Internal PLL Overvoltage to "Auto", that should do it.

This is the latest beta BIOS and change log: http://www.overclock.net/13535072-post1198.html

Hmmm i think u should set Vdroop to Low then C-state disabled but EIST and C1E enabled.... for 4.5ghz mine can get with 1.25 or 1.26v since i got stable 4.6ghz at 1.295volt, so you should try under 1.30v first for 4.5ghz.... set PLL overvoltage to Auto ... i think u should enabled it at 4.7 - 4.8ghz up but maybe set it enabled could bring stable just like Bio said

Anyway with Autovcore can do that also bro but vcore abit higher when under load, i have experimented with autovcore at 4.5ghz when under load it goes to 1.34 volt.
Btw nice mobo u got there ) i used to had GD80 in lynnfield platform and that mobo performs great!! i can get daily stable i5 750 4ghz only use 1.28volt

What you set Vdroop to is irrelevant as it doesn't work.
No point in changing C-States, I believe.
Internal PLL Overvoltage on auto will work like when it's enabled, but won't cause boot problems, so auto is good for 5 GHz+ OC's.
Don't use auto Vcore.

Putting my 2c in here. I'm running 4.7 for over 3 weeks without any problems but this. If I swap out a monitor with the rig powered off than turn it on, it hangs at the last blank screen before windows starts loading. Exactly like it acts when I have my external USB HD plugged in. I always have to restart the rig for it to load correctly if I plug ANY USB device or change monitors(which I do often as I have a 17crt, 24" hanns-g, 24" soyo and now a 26" Asus). In my honest opinion I would recommend any other board before recommending any of these.
