MSI P67A-GD80/GD65/GD55/GD53 Owners Club/Discussion/Info Thread - Page 129

Forgot to mention it, but when I rebooted and the backup-bios kicked in there was a message saying something about the memory. Inside the bios I ran the memory testing tool twice and both times it failed. After that I ran memtest and got 5 errors the first pass, and after 20% in to the second pass I got several more.

Could faulty memory modules result in the dissappearance of my drive??

Well, any errors in Memtest at all are a warning sign. You should get it replaced. As for your disappearing drives: When I installed my SSD, suddenly my PC would boot. Turns out that although it saw my drives it just wouldn't boot to anything (not even CD). Cleared CMOS and loaded my OC profile again and all was fixed. Try doing the same.

Well. Tried setting my ram ta auto xmp and since then they have been working fine... Wierd because I set everything manual but exactly the same as the xmp settings. (the reason for not running xmp in the first place was because it seemed as if cpuid didnt show correct speed, now it does though..) Strange, but if it works I´m glad

Regarding the dissappearing d: drive. I read around some and apparently others have had the same problem. The advice was to install Intel rapid storage drivers. Tried that and since then I havent had any more incidents. Hopefully everything will work fine now..

Thanks for the help though.

Does anyone know if its possible to flash the backup-bios to a newer version??

well with newest bios (12b6) i'm finally able to get 2133 mem speed stable in win7 though at t2 command rate instead of the rated t1. had to completely redo my overclock though as it won't run stable at 42x100 with auto vcore anymore. now at 48x100 with 1.375 vcore (goes to 1.44 under load)
49x gives me bsod 101 even with vcore set to 1.45 so think i'll stay here

Has anyone gotten around the terrible voltage control problem? When I try for 5GHz I set 1.48VCore in the BIOS yet CPU-Z reports 1.52+VCore under load. I am running 1.Bv1.11.

No. Someone seems to have fixed it by disabling the full screen post logo, but no one's been able to reproduce it.
