Do you have a speaker plugged into the mono? I think it came with one (or maybe that was my case) any beep codes?

No beeps (with speakers plugged into the back pannel), using the CMOS reset button has no effect.

Guys just something i noticed. with the msi cd in you can play games in the bios. kinda cool i guess....
Also i found the beep codes, they aren't in the instructions but they are on the msi forum: http://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=129806.0

With the speaker i mean a internal speaker anyone remember if it came with one? i think it did, you plug it in to jfp2 on the bottom of the mobo on the side with one more pin. thats what will give you the bios codes.

It was the motherboard that was bad. I picked up a GD55 this afternoon on sale and it booted right up without any issues. So time to box up the G45 and send it back.

Too bad. Well, as long as you get the money back for the G45, it's all good.

I've tried once, but didn't make it work. It's popular on http://forum-en.msi.com/ though, so look around.

i still haven't figured out how to change the minimum cpu speed when turboboost is enabled. but to be honest i kinda prefer it the way it is since when it's idle i'm at under 10w for cpu usage but with turbo boost disabled i'm at 85w at idle at 4.8ghz thats alot of power to be sitting there doing nothing

Man, I've had to increase Vcore by 0.02 V over the last 2 weeks. All that idling (as I'm mining) really has been "stressing" my CPU.

mad.gif I also had to increase mine this week to stabilized it after I applied bios update that fixed the Gskill ram issue.

I have my 2600k at 4.7 GHz with turbo boost so heres my settings:

-Speedstep and Turbo enabled
-Stock multi ( must select it from the top of the multi list otherwise it won't work)

Under CPU Features:
-Intel C-State: Enabled
-C State limit: No Limit
-Core limit for 1 2 3 and 4 cores: 47

At those settings I idle at 1.6GHz and shoot up to 4.7 under load but voltage remanis at 1.38V I need for 4.7 GHz (goes up to 1.42V with LLC)
