Temperatures are around mid 60s. I've turned back on the power saving stuff because I really don't want to turn that off -- and I'm getting the same results. I've read there is supposed to be an option in the MSI BIOS to turn off turbo but it's not there. It even says it in my manual, but it's not there.. maybe they removed it in a BIOS revision? I'm using 1E. What's the bug in 1E that the original post refers to?

Hello,
I didn't find the msi z68 official thread so i guess this is it. The thing is I'm going to buy a msi z68 gd-80 b3 motherboard but i keep reading that the clickBios 2 from the g3 models is way better than the normal one, i would like to know if there is any way to update the UEFI bios to ClickBIOS II?
Thanks-

i am building a second rig for my friend and i have a couple of questions

How are the p67/z68 boards from msi?

Budget $150-165

How is there CS?

How is there RMA Process? Do they do advanced RMA ?

he will be doing 2 way sli and use i5 2500k

As has been said, there's a throttling bug in 1.E. Your turbo option is likely gone because you disabled EIST or one of the other power saving features.

Thanks for the update, I'll try that out and add it to the OP.

My research didn't turn up anything, so I doubt it.

The boards are good as long as you're not aiming for extreme OC'ing.

Customer support is slow, but they do get back to you.

Don't know the RMA process.

1. Here is a video to give a better illustration of what my problem is

I've checked the cabling, both the 8pin and 24pin cable they are both secure.

Earlier before, after disconnecting the wires, and before touching anything, I had 5 LEDs showing up and the 6th one was flashing. I think that might be a power issue no?

Here is what it did before.

and this..

I've been experiencing some power issues with the gtx480 ever since I got my new rig. Don't know why, but it doesn't like it.

Got any ideas about the first issue? Dead mobo ?
Would it be possible for you to try another power supply?
You mentioned some issues after upgrading to the 480. I had a similar issue when I upgraded a card on a friend's system from an older 9800 to a 280. It would crash every time he tried any gaming or 3DMark tests.
Turned out it was the power supply, it was a Corsair TX750, which at that time was normally able to handle even two 280's, but his unit was faulty and couldn't power even one. If I swapped the 9800 with the 280, there were no issues.
I replaced it with a Corsair HX850 and there were no more problems, the same system now is running a 470 just fine.

After many suggestions by forum members I am thinking of using the P67A-GD80-B3 for my next build but I have 2x major concerns about the board. Which I was hopeing you all can assist me with.
1) does it have duel BIOS?
2) does it have LED error diagnostic lights like the ASUS boards carry?
Thanks

Guys I finally assembled the PC, testing the OC now. Is it normal for Core Temp to show VID of 1.37v while CPU-z and BIOS show 1.24v? I'm at 4ghz now, testing it for a bit, not sure which one is the correct one.
Bye AMD :(

CPU-Z is the correct one. I haven't tried CoreTemp on the i5, but I know RealTemp can't read it.
